[mythtv-users] Video Overlay / Video Only on Taskbar

OK, I'll answer my own question in case anyone else has this problem.

In KDE, there is a setting for the taskbar (you right click on it to
bring up the properties) that is something like "always on top." This
must be turned off.

Very nice.

Subject: [mythtv-users] Video Overlay / Video Only on Taskbar

So, I'm new to media applications in Linux and mythTV, and I've got this
reoccurring problem:

>From a terminal in KDE, I start up mythbackend as a background process.
Fine, no problem.
Now, I start up mythfrontend.
Again, things are good, the menus look amazing. I've got my screen size
such that I can still see my task bar at the bottom of the screen. When
I go to watch live TV or recorded TV, however, it jumps to full screen
(as I have the option set), but doesn't really get rid of the task bar.
The top of the screen is black, but the bottom of the video plays in the
task bar around the icons. I can change channels and things and the
sound confirms things are OK. In fact, it occasionally flashes the real
video on the full screen.

Sometimes this happens, and other times the whole system works
flawlessly.

I can't figure out what I'm doing to "fix" it or "break" it.

Has anyone else seen this behavior and been able to faithfully reproduce
the "fix" or the problem?

Thanks,

Erik
