The rate of transcode depends heavily on the resolution and options you 
choose.  The new xvid encoder resulution is basically four times larger 
(twice width and twice length) than the old divx one, and defaults to 
turning on denoise (which the old one didn't have at all).  The denoise 
option makes a HUGE difference in speed (but on the other hand also 
produces much cleaner output).

Of the current options, xvid will give you the best quality for the 
filesize.
