[mythtv-users] Strange "lockup" problem

I'm not sure entirely how to describe this, I just wanted to toss it
out and see if anyone had anything similiar.   My tv is the only
display for my mythbox.  If it gets unplugged from the tv for a long
time, like if my wife plugs in the dvd player ( I don't have mythdvd
working yet) and leaves the mythbox unplugged for a while, alot of the
time when I switch the cables back, nothing happens.  It just has a
dark grey screen that's unresponsive.  I run with "/usr/X11R6/bin/xset
-dpms s off&".  The motherboard has power management off.  The only
solution I can find is to restart the computer, which is annoying. 
It's like it goes into standby mode but I can't figure out what's
causing it.  Judging from the log,  the computer may have locked up:
