[mythtv-users] Recording stops on high network load

I have two NIC's attached to my machine: the "frontend" is 100 Mbit
PCI card and is connected to my house network; the "backend" is
gigabit ICH5 integrated with the motherboard and is connected directly
to my file server, on which all recordings are stored.

When I initiate a large transfer over the frontend, recording on my
pcHDTV card stops. There are no messages in mythbackend indicating
this, just periodic spew from the work queue code. E.g., in the
following log snippet, recording stopped somewhere around 9:41:15:

2004-10-15 09:40:57 Maximum signal strength detected: 92% after 0 msec wait
2004-10-15 09:41:02 JobQueue::RecoverQueue: Checking for unfinished jobs to recover.
2004-10-15 09:41:02 JobQueue::GetJobsInQueue: findJobs search bitmask 4, found 0 total jobs
2004-10-15 09:41:02 JobQueue::ProcessQueue() started
2004-10-15 09:41:02 JobQueue::GetJobsInQueue: findJobs search bitmask 4, found 0 total jobs
2004-10-15 09:41:32 JobQueue::GetJobsInQueue: findJobs search bitmask 4, found 0 total jobs
2004-10-15 09:42:02 JobQueue::GetJobsInQueue: findJobs search bitmask 4, found 0 total jobs

Why is it that mythbackend doesn't even *notice* that recording
stopped?

Cheers,
Kyle
