540p and 1080i are electrically equivalent to the set -- it's just a 
matter of whether 1080i content has deinterlacing applied to it (for 
540p) or whether 720p has interlacing applied to it (for 1080i).  Try it 
the other way (and turn on bob deinterlacing); you may be pleasantly 
surprised.
