Ah, the infamous NVidia NForce2 IO-APIC problem. It's fixed in 2.4.27
and should be fixed in a recent 2.6 release. I'm running my mythbackend
on such a system and it's been rock solid. Before the patch from Nvidia
there would be random lock ups caused by high IO activity, such as disk IO.
