Good 'ol ext3 is actually very fast at large file deletes... I think 
bonnie++ tests even give it 1st place. As mentioned in a thread last 
week, SGI even notes in the white paper on XFS that its weak spot is 
large file deletion. I use it mostly because any of the live CD's I use 
support it, and not XFS,
