[mythtv-users] Tricks for calibrating X on PVR-350 output

Andrew,
Your values are close to mine, but they will vary for
everybody, as different TVs will get different
overscan features. I did the same thing for adjusting
my display.
Myself, I found that using ratpoison for a window
manager works quite well, better than using KDE. It
frees up some memory (not really so important on a
machine with 512MB of RAM, I guess), and also, you
don't have to run mythfrontend in a window. As an
added bonus, the GUI offset values work in ratpoison
(but not in KDE).
My values (on a Panasonic 32" TV):
GUI X Width: 480
GUI Y Height: 456
GUI X Offset: 16
GUI Y Offset: 16
Vertical overscan: 2
Horizontal overscan: 4
My .xsession (for ratpoison):
/usr/bin/mythfrontend -l
/var/log/mythtv/mythfrontend.log &
exec ratpoison
