I am trying to get my TV out working.

My ATI Radeon 7500 has an S-video out port that I have connected
to my TV via the S-video in port.

When I am not running X (ie. just in console mode) the computer
screen shows up just fine on the TV.

When I startx, the picture on the TV screen is completely garbled.
I have tried many different resolutions, none of which work.

I have installed atitvout and gatos but I'm not really sure if they are
installed correctly or configured properly.

Some examples of atitvout:
# atitvout detect
CRT is attached.
TV is attached via S-Video
# atitvout vbe
VBE Version: 2.0
VBE OEM Identification: ATI RADEON 7500
# atitvout standard
Can set on the fly:
 ntsc
 pal
Current standard is NTSC.
# atitvout tvout (this one is obviously a candidate for where the
problem might be)
VBE call failed.
Maybe this command is not supported by your graphics adapter?
Did your parameters (if you specified some) really make sense?
Please try all other available commands before complaining!

XFConfig-4:
Section "Device"
        Identifier "Generic Video Card"
        Driver "ati"

        Option "TwinView"
        Option "SecondMonitorHorizSync" "30-50"
        Option "SecondMonitorVertRefresh" "60"
        Option "MetaModes" "1280x1024, NULL; 800x600, 800x600; 640x480,
640x480"
        Option "TwinViewOrientation" "Clone"
        Option "ConnectedMonitor" "CRT, TV"
        Option "TVOutFormat" "SVIDEO"
        Option "TVStandard" "NTSC"
        Option "TVOutput" "NTSC-M"
EndSection

Does anyone know if the tv out is supported on this video card an if so, how
to get it working??
