What is your capture rate in myth? I don't have HDTV and as such capture
at 2200. If I mpeg2 cut the commercials and send the files to my XP box
for Adobe Encore mastering, I can easily get 10-12 Scooby Doos on a disk
with no change of bitrates needed (already low).

I'm no expert but I would suspect you could lower your capture rate to
achieve the same thing...
