I don't run Myth on my laptop, but I use a prism based PCMCIA card on
the laptop that works fine, and is easily fast enough to stream video
(I've watched enough mpeg2 and divx movies from an nfs mounted drive to
be able to say that).

Prism cards are pretty well supported in linux. I know Mandrake and SuSE
both support them, though if you use the download versions, you will
need to download the firmware for the card and put that in the correct
directory for the driver to find. (driver and firmware can be found on
www.prism54.org, along with a list of supported cards.)
