[mythtv-users] mythtv segfault when exiting live tv

Hi Jason,

I have exact same problem. mythfrontend segfaults when
exiting live tv or the built-in movie player. Every
single time. In my case, I had myth 0.15 which I
uninstalled and installed 0.16 from source. The config
files and mysql db were inherited from the 0.15
installation. I thought that might be the problem but
mythfilldatabase and the program guide work perfectly
fine.

I tried compiling myth with debug option in
settings.pro and enabling core dumps. However, if the
core dumps are enabled, not only does mythfrontend
segfault, it actually locks up the system. Certainly X
is locked, keyboard is unusable. I don't have a second
machine at the moment, so I can't log in remotely to
check if the kernel is dead. I'd be glad to debug this
and submit a patch, but when the whole system locks
up, that's kinda hard to do...

specs:

AMD Athlon XP 2400+
Gigabyte GA-7VT600-P-L (VIA KT600)
512MB DDR400 SDRAM
NVidia GeForce 5800 (nvidia proprietary driver)
Hauppauge PVR-250
40GB Maxtor ATA100
200GB Seagate ATA133
Mandrake 10.0
kernel 2.6.6 (custom-built)
mythtv 0.16 (frontend & backend on the same machine)

any ideas?

thanks in advance,

Eugene
