[mythtv-users] mythbackend stops accepting connections, odd behavior

I'm working with GDB now to try to figure out what is going on. Basically my
mythbackend will just stop accepting connections from mythfrontends,
mythweb, and even the backend status page. Once this happens, when I kill
the mythbackend process a new one starts! I'm not running it in a loop, and
I have no idea where it is coming from. Doing a pstree shows it is branching
from init, which makes no sense at all since I only initialize it from my
.xinitrc. Even worse is that it won't accept connections either, and I can't
even kill it with a 9 signal. I then have to reboot the machine.

Here's the bug report that i've been following up on:
http://www.mythtv.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=89

If you have any ideas please share them...

I use a .xinitrc file to startup everything, but I noticed the same behavior
above in GDB when I ran it myself.
echo "Starting mythbackend"
/usr/local/bin/mythbackend -v >> /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log 2>&1 &

echo "Startig fluxbox"
exec startfluxbox &

echo "Setting Background"
bsetbg -full /home/chris/pvrback.jpg

echo "Setting Non Blanking"
xset -dpms s off s noblank s noexpose

echo "Starting irxevent"
irxevent &

echo "Starting irexec"
irexec -d

echo "Starting mythfrontend"
while true; do /usr/local/bin/mythfrontend >>
/var/log/mythtv/mythfrontend.log 2>&1 ;
sleep 2; done

and my bash profile for autostarting X:

export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/bin

if [ -z "$DISPLAY" ] && [ $(tty) == /dev/vc/1 ]; then
startx -- -dpi 100
fi

[ -f ~/.bashrc ] && . ~/.bashrc
