[mythtv-users] MythTV 0.16 DVB and Channel Changes

Hello,

Since MythTV 0.16, it sometimes "forgets" to change the DVB channel.

e.g. I set it up to record on channel 2, but it starts recording on
channel 7 instead. So I stop the recording, and watch live TV. MythTV
says it is on channel 2, but it actually is on channel 7. Selecting
channel 2 is a NOP, because it thinks it is already there. So I have
to select channel 7 instead, and then channel 2. After doing this, I
can resume recording my show on channel 2.

The same thing happened two nights in a row. I tried reproducing it
today manually, but it worked fine.

Any ideas?

I know in the past another user has said my signal strength is weak,
but I am skeptical (signal strength should be high, I don't live far
from the transmission towers, plus I now have a dedicated antenna for
each input card).

The logged messages from the backend were:

I would speculate what happened is as follows:

13:42 DVB started up tuning to channel 2.

14:00 DVB tuned to channel 7 to record Blue Healers. For some reason
this come up as an error, but in actual fact it worked
fine. Blue Healers recorded without *any* problems.

17:00 However because tuning to channel 7 came up with an error,
MythTV assumed channel 2 was still the currently tuned channel,
and didn't try to tune to it again. This is obviously wrong. If
an error occurs when tuning, MythTV should not make any
assumptions what channel is selected, instead it should force
      re-tuning again.

This issue never happened before with earlier versions, I suspect this
might be the first version that tries to take shortcuts and not tune
to the channel if it thinks that channel is already tuned.
