[mythtv-users] Manual recordings Vs. Guide recordings?

Ok, Here's the thing, I have a Mythbox (frontend+backend=1 computer) that
has a pcHDTV 3000 card for OTA HDTV reception. This is the only capture card
that I have or use. I had a problem last week with the program guide being
exactly 6 hours off, (figured out that my time zone was set to UTC) so I
scheduled a manual recording of ABC's "LOST". This was the first HDTV
broadcast that I was able to record. With the help of other MythTV users and
this mailing list, I was able to play it back smoothly. YEA!
After I got the guide problem fixed, I tried to go through and schedule some
recordings using the program guide. I did a few test recordings of a late
night "CSI" & the Local News. Each one claimed to be recording, But neither
one did. Both of them are 0.00Gb recordings that I can't erase. Hmmmm.
Next day I play around with some settings, and use "manual recording" to
record 5 min of "Fraiser" late last night on FOX. After it was done
recording, I watched it all and it was all good. Ok, so thinking that it is
fixed, I use the guide to schedule recordings for "Blind Date" on FOX that
come on at 2:30 and 4:00 am.
When I wake up this morning, I check the recordings, and they both recorded.
But when I try to play them back, They both freeze for a second, and then
play for a second, etc. . and are basically unwatchable. That's weird. So I
check out the recording of "LOST" from the other night, and it plays fine.
The only difference between these recordings and and the one that worked
earlier was that I used the program guide to automatically schedule them.
Does any one have any ideas or suggestions as to what caused this or why
this happens?
Any help would be appreciated. -Mat
