With Dish Network or Directv you will need to either 1) get their PVR, 
or 2) modify your receiver with the 169time mod ( http://169time.com ).

For cable you can receive QAM channels as long as they are not 
encrypted, which as Brad mentions could change any time the cable 
company feels like it.  Also, there have been some issues with QAM on 
the Air2PC.  Some people have had problems.  Looks like, at least until 
the new Air2PC comes out, the HD3000 may be a better option for QAM.  I 
have both cards (and an HD2000) also, but I don't use cable (for TV 
anyway) so haven't tried QAM.
