You mean similar to the way that WASTE works?

In fact, leveraging OpenSSL into the bargain (Or using SSL through
Apache to secure XML webservices and/or data transfers) would make the
system secure, would remove the whole P2P problem (As it would have no
greater or lesser impact than sharing videotapes, and there would have
to be an existing relationship between the users, and of course who
would let a member of the MPAA/RIAA be a part of their "partnership"),
and would mean there is no danger of your recorded content being
sniffed over the wire.

I'm liking this more and more...
