[mythtv-users] transcoding hd recordings with cutlist

I'm trying to transcode some hd recordings with cutlists I made from
within myth.  I got transcoding (to mpeg4) settings l like, however
the cuts in the resulting file aren't exactly the same as where I made
them.  ie.  If I cut out a commercial, and watch the HD content non
transcoded in mythfronted, I just get a few black frames at the
commercial break for a transition.  After transcoding I the cut starts
at the right place, but I end up with 15-20 seconds of commercial.

I'm no expert on this stuff, but does this have to do with gop frames
or anything like that?  is the cutlist > transcoding from hdtv frame
accurate?

I've tried nuvexport as well but haven't gotten the settings correct
or gotten nearly as nice of output compared to the transcoder built
into myth.

Also just out of curiosity, is it possible to use nuvexport to
transcode on a machine other then the backend?
