So does this affect the recorded data stream? I.e. is this a
'symmetric' problem with compiling Myth without MMX support- i.e.
streams recorded with myth will play back (as they're both doing the
same odd thing with the red component), but anything else that plays
them (like the preview- I assume a seperate library) or mplayer goes
In the 0.18 ebuild, around line 74 I see:
# tested on different versions on gcc, P4, celeron & athlon-xp, and
all bork on postProcess_MMX
# with mmx enabled, so disabled for all architectures for now - FIXME
$(use_enable altivec) ...
I assume that I should try something like $(use_enable mmx), or just
hard-code in -enable-mmx and ensure it's built with MMX support?
Do you expect that will fix the problem with the preview and also Mplayer?
If so, I'll add some comments to the Gentoo bug I just found for this
