to get the signal?

that.

I'm Canadian, but unfortunately everything marketed to Canadian
consumers is just "overspray" from what is marketed to Americans.  Oh
yeah, and restricted by our over-controlling government bodies "in the
interests of Canadians".  Sure.  Whatever.
