I haven't bothered to trace the error to it's source, but so far have
simply given in to its demands. :-) In my case it was looking for /.qt
instead of /root/.qt, so my solution was to mkdir /.qt && chown mythtv
/.qt && chmod 750 /.qt and I haven't had any errors since.
