[mythtv-users] What to strive for in backend-only systems

Hi,

are there any minimum recommendations for drive RPMs, processor power,
RAM etc. in a backend-only system that serves as a media server for up
to 3 frontends? (Plan is to use 2 or 3 HDs either via LVM or as a
RAID.)

My current system (PIII 600, combined frontend/backend) has a few
moments of stuttering in playing back a program whenever a new
recording starts or ends in the background - I'd like to make sure the
dedicated backend doesn't suffer from that problem.
