[mythtv-users] lirc troubles with pvr-350 on fedora core 3.

Hi Folks,
I'm having a little difficulty in getting my pvr-350's remote to
function with myth 18.1 on Fedora Core 3. I have followed the steps in
the howto at http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php#lirc  but when I
fire up /usr/bin/irw to test there is no output.

I checked /var/log/messages[1] and /var/log/dmesg, and as far as I can
tell everything looks ok.

I think I have the new g3 hauppage remote - my remote looks just like
the one pictured here

The howto mentions a black and grey remote, so I tried the lircd.conf
recommended for it and the "g3-hauppage", but irw produces no output.
BTW The underside of my remote looks more of a dark navy blue rather
than black.

I have also included a copy of my modprobe.conf below[3]. 
Did I miss configure something, I've gone back and double checked my
configuration against the howto several times.

Any suggestions as to what I should check/try next?
Is it possible that I have a new hauppage remote - I got this pvr-350
from newegg about 3 weeks ago.
