[mythtv-users] Live TV failing to load after ivtv rollback

Hi,

I rolled back ivtv to 0.3.8 and loaded the firmware from my CD:

HcwFalcn.rom (md5sum: 5f5fa240ada73c3565f5f7de4c7b5138) symlinked to
ivtv-fw-enc.bin
HcwMakoA.ROM (md5sum: 3a4803384f749d644ee1f1ca9dcb12fa)

This second file is the same as the one Alan mentioned in his video
distortion post, though it is unclear whether it is the one causing his
problem or curing it. It worked for me earlier with ivtv 0.3.7x.

dmesg shows ivtv loading with the following error:

Allocate DMA encoder PCM audio stream: 455 x 4608 buffers (2048KB total)
ivtv: Create encoder radio stream

(same for second unit)

mplayer plays the stream from video0 generally with better quality than I
was having with the 0.5.1 setup, although my weak channel is still much
worse than it was on my old setup (and very much worse than feeding the
signal directly to the tv).

MythTV crashes out of Live TV without playing, and gives the following error:
Connecting to backend server: 192.168.1.5:6543 (try 1 of 5)

Wondering what I need to do to get mythtv to play with the downgraded ivtv?

Cheers

Marius
