1) make sure your capture card is properly recognized and working. Try
it with a standard antenna. If you can't get a signal, try
#/sbin/lspci -v

Make sure your card is recognized as a PVR-250, not a 150 or 350.

You may need to add a line to modprobe.conf -- tunertype=1, or
something. Look through the archives, this has been covered.


2) Once you're sure that the card is working -- ($cat /dev/vid0 >
/home/you/test.mpg) then try setting up the dish network box. Double
check your mythtvsetup settings -- input should be tuner0 (for the RF
coax in). The Dish box should be putting out an analog NTSC signal on
channel 3.

3) For Svideo, you need to bring the audio separately from the Dish
box -- a stereo RCA to 1/8" stereo mini cable is what you need to
bring audio into the PVR 250. You also need to change your mythtvsetup
to Svideo.
