I can help you with the KVM question.  I have a Hawking Technology
CS152F 2 Port KVM Mini Switch, which can be powered through an
external AC adapter.  Note that the adapter must be purchased
separately - I bought mine at Radio Shack.
 The KVM I'm referring to doesn't have USB, but I beleive some Hawking
models do.
