[mythtv-users] FF/RR and jump ahead/back gone all wonky

Well, the first part about the position map probably indicates bad data 
in your recordedmarkup table.  You can use mythcommflag with the 
--rebuild option to rebuild the data for particular files.  As for the 
last, DMA errors sound like hardware issues but I'm not an ivtv user so 
I can't say what is really happening there.
