Heh, I use Suse and the Mythtv documentation. It actually seems to be quite sufficient. 

Since you are familiar with yast, look to install these from the disk:
qt3
qt3-devel
mysql
mysql-devel

There might be others available in RPM form with the DVD or CD Disks. But the above-listed are there.
