myth autotune (AKA scan for channels) only works for digital video (dvb) tuners.

To set up terrestrial analog tuning in the UK I've used xmltv and
mythfilldatabase (via mythtvsetup) to create the channels, then the
channel editor (also in mythtvsetup) to tweak the channel frequency
and xmltvid.

Not sure what sort of card the Pinnacle is, so this may not help.
