Assuming your laptop only has one network interface, configure the
backend address as 172.20.20.1 and enter 192.168.1.1 as the laptop's
gatway.

If your laptop is also dual-networked then instead of making 192.168.1.1
the gateway you could enter a static route so that 172.20.20.1 traffic
is passed via 192.168.1.1 and all other traffic uses the preferred
gateway.
