Hello fellow MythTv users,

I'm a little confused by the dvb-t broadcasts in my area.

My MythTv is setup for SDTV channels at the moment and they work extremely
well. I thought I'd try out the high definition channels, so I used
dvbstream with mplayer. The channels "ABC HD", "WIN HD" and "SC HD" would
stream but not play.

Why would "ABC HD", "SC HD" and "7 HD" have lower bit rates then their
standard definition counterparts?

I can't see the advantage of high definition if it is twice the frame rate but
at a lower bitrate like "7 HD". "WIN HD" is four times the size but only 60%
large bit rate.

Is high definition is a waste of time or what am I missing?
