Completely correct (much to many peoples disappointment)

The encryption mechanism Sky use is proprietary (amongst other things too
probably) so until they open it all up we'll have to live with analogue
capture.

Subject: [mythtv-users] UK Sky via DVB-S + CAM

Does anyone have any success stories with using a DVB-S Card + CAM to watch
Sky in the UK? All totally legit, I have a pukka Sky subscription, but
before I set up capture via a composite input on a tuner card, I was
wondering if I can do it all 'natively'. My limited research seems to
suggest that you can't do this. Am I right?

Neale.
