I think that TVTime / xawtv don't work with the output from a
PVR250/350..
I've got a 350 at home in my myth box and can't use TVTime or xawtv. I'm
sure I've read somewhere the reason why, I think it's to do with the
output format(but I've not got the specifics to hand).
If you can capture OK using the 'cat' method (or you can do 'dd
if=/dev/video0 of=/somefilenamehere' then the PVR-250 is working OK.

What errors do you get from mythtv?

Try running mythbackend and mythfrontend in seperate shell windows
initially so you can see any output from them while you try viewing
things.
When I first setup it was a great help when I couldn't change channels,
as I could see the response to each action I tried.

hope this helps.
