Hi all,
I am a first time subsciber to this list and I am hoping that someone
can help me with this. I've googled my brains out on this and can't seem
to find the answer. I have been trying to get MythTV working on my box
for some months now. I finally got it working perfectly except the
remote.

Here is my hardware: NF3-150 MB, A64 3200+, 512MB ram, raid1 80GB SATA
HD x2, WinTV PVR-250, Nvidia FX5700U.

I am currently running Suse 9.2 X86-64, on vanilla kernel sources for
2.6.11. MythTV 0.17, lirc-cvs (from yesterday also tried 0.7.1pre1 and
2), ivtv 0.2.0-rc3g (firmware pvr48wdm_1.8.22037.exe).

Here is the problem. I can start lircd -n fine, however, whenever I
start the mythfrontend I get:

dothedog:/home/dad/download/lirc-cvs/lirc/tools # lircd -n
lircd 0.7.1-CVS: lircd(H=) ready
lircd 0.7.1-CVS: accepted new client on H=
lircd 0.7.1-CVS: Segmentation fault

I get the same when I try irw, irrecord, irexec etc.

I also noticed that in dmesg | grep lirc* I get:

lirc_dev: no version for "struct_module" found: kernel tainted.
lircd[11697]: segfault at ffffffffffffffc0 rip 00002aaaaac2f320 rsp
00007fffffffbf78 error 4

That doesn't look good. But lsmod looks ok:

This is the last thing that is preventing me from getting MythTV to
replace my windows htpc. I am hoping it is something really stoopid.
Also, I was using the guide at:
http://www.homerengineeringcorp.net/mythtv/myth.html
everything in there worked except for LIRC. I even recompiled MythTV
with a make distclean as he suggested. Any and all help is appreciated!

Rob
