"Some drivers"? Which ones? Only one I know it was necessary for recently was 
the ivtv driver when using PVR-150 and PVR-500 cards, but that was fixed a 
release or two ago...

CONFIG_8KSTACKS and CONFIG_4KSTACKS. They're under the kernel hacking section.
