 Personally I configure syslog to send all log levels to a single file
so I don't miss anything.

out [root] ~# cat /etc/syslog.conf 
*.*;news.none                                             /var/log/debug

 You would be suprised how much stuff you find is being sent to syslog
but never logged to a file with the default setups.
