Looks like it worked. It says end of file. How long did you run the
cat command to /tmp/test.mpg? I let mine run at least 2 minutes to be
sure I had a sufficient size file to check everything. If you only let
the cat command run for a couple of seconds, it likely didn't get a
chance to display video.
