[mythtv-users] Can't Record from Plextor PX-TV402U

I'm attempting to use a Plextor ConvertX PX-TV402U with MythTV. For the
time being, my project is (or should be) very simple: I just want to
transfer VHS video to DVD. I'm a relative newbie to linux video and
mythtv.

I'm running linux 2.6.14.3, Debian unstable, and the Plextor drivers
wis-go7007 version 0.9.7. I've also built mythtv and all the plugins from
subversion checkout today.

I've configured mythtv as suggested at
<http://gentoo-wiki.com/HARDWARE_go7007>. mythtv sees the Plextor card,
and I have configured it under "capture cards" in mythtv-setup.

Whenever I choose 'Watch TV' from mythtv-frontend, I get no result. The
console reports:

FWIW, gorecord works fine, but my understanding is that A-V sync will be
lost with long recordings with gorecord but mythtv avoids that problem.

I'm also trying to avoid a post-capture video convert/transcode step but
not quite sure how to do that.
