If you're just wanting to use MythVideo, you shouldn't have to add
capture cards or configure channels (quite a few users run MythTV this
way).

You need to share the files from your other computer using something
like NFS or SAMBA (if other machine is Windows based). Then configure
MythVideo with the shared path's mointpoint, make sure the files are
accessible through any firewalls, and you should be good to go.
