[mythtv-users] Fusion 5 Gold Problems

Hello,
I recently decided to upgrade from an old WinTV card to a Fusion 5
Gold (mostly so I can try to get HDTV QAM) and I've been having some
problems. I've installed the CVS V4L drivers and the standard cable capture
works for the most part, however, the picture is very washed out. I tried
setting the contrast down using the v4lctl command but it doesn't seem to do
anything. The XV picture controls under Myth work but I can't get the
quality to what it was under the old WinTV. Next, sound doesn't work until I
change a channel. It had worked fine on the old WinTV, so I'm guessing it's
a problem with the new card. Some posts said to make sure your sound card
module is being loaded at startup - which I did and it made no difference.

On to DVB tuning. I cannot get any channels to lock using dvbscan
/usr/share/dvb/atsc/us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB

It just says WARNING: >>> tuning failed!!!

My startup dmesg:

It's possible there are no unencrypted QAM channels in my area (I have
Insight Cable). However, I read that the "WARNING: >>> tuning failed!!!"
error is caused by not having the devices firmware loaded. Is this the case
with the fusion 5? Thanks
