OK - I got my 500 working great in with my 350. Here's what I did.

I had ivtv 0.4.0, btw-

1) I added these 2 lines to my /etc/modprobe.conf - may not have been
necessary, but I did it and it works
alias char-major-81-1 ivtv
alias char-major-81-2 ivtv

2) installed card

3) went into mythtv-setup and setup the card - i said it was an MPEG2
(250/350 type).

4) tried it out and found there was no sound :( but picture looked
good :)

5) Then i followed instructions from Allan Wilson from a message
(Sept 18th) on this list
     a) Download http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/mce/
mce_cd_v27a.zip
    b) mkdir ~/pvrfirmware
    c) unzip mce_cd_v27a.zip -d ~/pvrfirmware
    d) cp ~/pvrfirmware/WinTV-PVR-150500MCE_2_0_30_23074_WHQL/
HcwMakoA.ROM /lib/modules
    e) cp ~/pvrfirmware/WinTV-PVR-150500MCE_2_0_30_23074_WHQL/
HcwFalcn.rom /lib/modules
    f) ln -sf /lib/modules/HcwFalcn.rom /lib/modules/ivtv-fw-enc.bin

6) shutdown for 10 seconds

7) startup and enjoy.

   Thanks
       Todd
