[mythtv-users] HDTV Playback causes Segmentation Fault

I am trying to get HDTV playback working on my MythTV system. I am
recording OTA HDTV with a HD-3000. The recordings are working fine. I
can see the content in the preview windows when I select the recording,
but when I actually go to play the recording the MythTV frontend
segfaults. This happens both on a frontend with a PVR-350 and on a
frontend with a Matrox G450. I know these are not fast enough to
playback full HDTV video, but I am trying to transcode it down to a
resolution that will work. The results are the same whether I transcode
the files or not.
If I run mythfrontend in a terminal I end up with the following output
before the crash:
2005-09-14 12:54:47.407 Using protocol version 15
2005-09-14 12:54:56.472 All Programs

2005-09-14 12:55:06.314 Opening audio device '/dev/dsp'.
2005-09-14 12:55:06.314 Opening OSS audio device '/dev/dsp'.
2005-09-14 12:55:06.438 Using XV port 61
2005-09-14 12:55:07.607 Changing from None to WatchingPreRecorded
2005-09-14 12:55:07.608 New DB connection, total: 3
2005-09-14 12:55:07.614 Using realtime priority.
Segmentation fault
I have tried to play the files with mplayer. The NUV files that are
captured using the HD-350 playback fine with mplayer, but the NUV files
that are captured with the HD-3000 cause mplayer to segfault unless I
add the "-nosound" flag. Then they playback, but don't look right.
Only the left half of the video is there, there are horizontal, and
other artifacts.
