Using rsync or just copying files to another drive is very safe, but
after you reach 600Gig or more it starts to become a problem of cash
and time.  Around that much storage, if you wanted to keep all of
that, you would really start to need two boxes with 600Gig, then rsync
the data, etc.  My comfort level is RAID5, maintaining one box, and
backing up the important stuff, which is not much for me.
