[mythtv-users] Random front end lockups

Since I thought I had finally gotten my PVR150 working by removing the bttv
card and moving the PVR150 to a different slot, naturally something else had
to pop up to destroy my happiness. Now, I'm getting random lock ups on the X
server. I don't really understand what's causing it, but it seems to be
related to ivtv. I was trying to get the pvr150 working the latest ivtv
drivers, but it was crashing after only a minute or two. When I rolled back
to the driver that I was using before I destroyed my system a week ago, I
managed to make it ALMOST through a movie before a lock up. What was
happening is that the CPU usage for X spikes through the roof. With the
0.3.5t driver, just now, the mythbackend usage shot up as well. I can't find
any errors, or problems in the log, this happened right before:

2005-09-15 22:59:03.135 Started recording "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart"
on channel: 1036 on cardid: 1, sourceid 1
2005-09-15 22:59:03.410 Changing from None to RecordingOnly
2005-09-15 22:59:03.463 Prog title: The Daily Show With Jon Stewart
2005-09-15 22:59:03.554 Waiting for recorder to start
2005-09-15 22:59:03.661 Recorder to started
2005-09-15 23:12:44.497 MainServer::HandleAnnounce Playback
2005-09-15 23:12:44.544 adding: happytrout as a client (events: 0)

I can connect to the machine via ssh and do almost anything I want, except
the screen is locked into the last frame of the movie I was watching.

The only thing I can point to that is "wrong" is this:

$ ps aux|grep ivtv
root 6243 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? S< 20:05 0:00 [ivtv_vbi/0]
root 6244 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? S< 20:05 0:00 [ivtv_fw/0]
root 6317 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? S< 20:05 0:00 [ivtv-enc]
root 6318 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? S< 20:05 0:00 [ivtv-enc-vbi]
mythtv 7449 0.0 0.1 1888 628 pts/2 S+ 23:22 0:00 grep ivtv

And I don't know what to do about them. Help!
