[mythtv-users] Archiving nuv files to CDR/DVDR

There are several efforts to archive Myth recordings to DVD/SVCD,
etc, but what about simply archiving a set of nuv files without the
hassle of transcoding or building menu structure, etc? This would be
ideal for those of us who would like to just archive a few shows/
series which would only be viewed on a Myth box (or a PC capable of
viewing .nuv files).

This can be done manually by using nuvexport to export to nuv/sql/txt
files, then burning to CD/DVD. But it would be really nice if there
was an interface for doing this (like the "Author DVD" patch), and
also if CDs containing archived nuv files could be automatically
mounted and browsed just like the regular recorded program listings
on HD. A disk ID could be used to cache the database entries and
then store updated bookmarks, cut lists, etc.

Has anyone already thought of such a thing or attempted to program it?

  - Dave.
