I don't know where on the planet you might be, but you should be  
running your system hardware clock on UTC, your system clock flag  
should reflect this, and your local timezone setting should be one  
that accounts for DST. You should also be running NTP, and you  
probably want to have the HW clock set to the system clock at shutdown.

Do you have the system shutdown at any time? Do you dual-boot with  
Windows (or other OS) ?

Does your system clock seem to be keeping the correct time ? I'd  
guess something is changing your clock setting that you are not aware  
of.
