That works.  Thanks!  This is really a work-around though.  HD480i doesn't 
recognize any valid modes and falls back to nvidia-auto-select which sets 
800x600 from an nvidia mode.  Manually defining modes doesn't work either 
(for NTSC-M or HD480i).  So NTSC-M doesn't have 800x600 and HD480i gets to it 
through the back door.  Guess I should push the issue on the nvidia mailing 
list.  Thanks again for the help!
