I guessed that the distortion was due to weak output signal from my  
onboard sound. It is mildly distorted and not all that noticeable at  
78%, but anything higher than that starts getting pretty bad. If  
there is some way to crank it up to 100% with no distortion, I'd  
certainly love to hear about it!
