They are making updates.  I can't speak to why the last update on the
webpage was a year ago, but I can tell you that the only way I could get my
card to work in December was to compile Alsa from cvs.  Since then, the
driver has made it to the kernel so that is evidence that the drivers are
constantly evolving and being updated.
