I recently went down that path. Unless something has changed in the past 
month, the best you can hope for is compiling it yourself in Ubuntu.
There is/was some major problem with the deb build.

I just wound up reloading OS X and running the very most basic package 
install of Myth...no plugins.

I am hoping for better results in 0.19.
